【摘要】:Thistestmethodprovidesapredictionoftheresistancetostablepropagatingpittingcorrosionofstainlesssteelsandrelatedalloysinastandardmedium(seeNote1).TheCPTtestcanbeusedforproductacceptance,alloydevelopmentstudies,andmanufacturingcontrol.Inthecaseofproductacceptance,thesupplierandusermustagreeuponthepreconditioningofthespecimenwithregardtosurfacefinish.Thetestisnotintendedfordesignpurposessincethetestconditionsacceleratecorrosioninamannerthatdoesnotsimulateanyactualserviceenvironment.AnothermethodtodeterminethepotentialindependentCPTwithanelectrochemicaltechniquehasbeendiscussedintheliterature(1-4).Thistestmethodinvolvesapotentiodynamic(potentialsweep)procedureperformedonspecimensatdifferenttemperatures.Acomparison(2)ofthetestmethoddescribedinthistestmethodandthepotentiodynamictechniquehasindicatednodifferenceinthetestresultobtained.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefortheevaluationoftheresistanceofstainlesssteelandrelatedalloystopittingcorrosionbasedontheconceptofthedeterminationofapotentialindependentcriticalpittingtemperature(CPT).1.2Thistestmethodsappliestowroughtandcastproductsincludingbutnotrestrictedtoplate,sheet,tubing,bar,forgings,andwelds,(seeNote1).Note18212;ExamplesofCPTmeasurementsonsheet,plate,tubing,andweldedspecimensforvariousstainlesssteelscanbefoundinRef(1).Seetheresearchreports(Section14).1.3ThestandardparametersrecommendedinthistestmethodaresuitableforcharacterizingtheCPTofausteniticstainlesssteelsandotherrelatedalloyswithacorrosionresistancerangingfromthatcorrespondingtosolutionannealedUNSS31600(Type316stainlesssteel)tosolutionannealedUNSS31254(6%Mostainlesssteel).1.4ThistestmethodmaybeextendedtostainlesssteelsandotheralloysrelatedtostainlesssteelthathaveaCPToutsidethemeasurementrangegivenbythestandardparametersdescribedinthistestmethod.Appropriatetestpotentialandsolutionmustthenbedetermined.1.5ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.1.6Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
