【摘要】:ThesetestmethodsaredesignedtobroadenthescopeoftheearliereditionsofthetestmethodbytheinclusionoftalloilandtalloilderivedproductsastestmaterialsandisreferencedinTestMethodsD803.Thesaponificationnumberisanimportantpropertyoftalloilandtheproductsobtainedbythefractionationoftalloil.Itisthetestmethodwidelyusedtodeterminethetotalacidcontent,bothfreeandcombined,oftheseproducts.Thepotentiometrictestmethodshouldbeusedwhenthemostreproducibleresultsarerequired.1.1Thesetestmethodscoverthedeterminationofthesaponificationnumberoftalloilandproductsobtainedbythefractionationoftalloilsuchasrosin,fattyacidsanddistilledtalloilasdefinedinTerminologyD804.Thesetestmethodsarealsoapplicabletogumandwoodrosin.Twotestmethodsarecoveredasfollows:1.1.1Testmethodusingapotentiometricmethod,and1.1.2Testmethodusinganinternalindicatormethod.1.2Thepotentiometricmethodissuitableforusewithbothlight-anddark-coloredtestsamples.Itshouldbeconsideredtherefereemethod.Theinternalindicatormethodissuitableforuseonlywithlight-andmedium-coloredtestsamples.Itshouldbeconsideredthealternatemethod.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.Nootherunitsofmeasurementareincludedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
